I just spent a couple of weeks deciding on a new bike to replace my road hybrid. After testing a whole slew of options, I settled on a Lugano. What a ride! There is really something special about this bike! It's just fun to ride and surprisingly nimble. My impression before riding it was that it would be somewhat "clunky". Not at all! Take a test ride. You're going to be impressed.
So, I've had my Lugano for a little more than a week now. This is turning into a very interesting journey. When I sold my road bike my riding changed significantly. Not the amount of riding I do. But how I ride and how I feel doing it. This is a heavy bike. It's also not a fast bike. It's a true commuter. I have always found my competitive side when encountering other riders when I rode fast. This has dropped away by necessity with my Lugano. But it's been replaced with a true sense of enjoyment. I sit up. I look around. And I have started to focus on my own ride without as much concern for speed. I ride like I did when I was 12. I smile more. I've even changed from calling my morning ride a "workout" to referring to it as my "constitutional". This bike matches my age.
